You do not need to know our stable routines before you arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These guidelines help us choose a suitable horse, prepare the experience safely and make the beginning of your ride as easy as possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center is-image-fill-element\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before you arrive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please tell us honestly about your current riding experience when booking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Knowing when you last rode, what kind of riding you have done and how confident you currently feel is more useful than simply describing yourself as a beginner or experienced rider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please also let us know in advance about anything that may affect your participation or safety, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a need for an assistant or support person<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mobility or other functional needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>illnesses, allergies or other health-related matters relevant to safe participation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>anything else you think your guide should know before choosing a horse or planning the activity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are unsure whether something is relevant, ask us before your visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Different riding experiences have different experience and participation requirements. Long hair should be tied back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A riding helmet is always worn when riding. Helmets and safety vests are available to borrow at Ronivaara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information about Kuusamo weather, arrival and preparing for your visit, see <strong>Plan Your Visit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center is-image-fill-element\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Around the horses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ronivaara is the everyday home of the horses and other animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Move calmly around the farm and follow your guide\u2019s instructions when approaching or handling a horse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please remember:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>enter paddocks, pastures and horse areas only with staff permission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>do not feed horses or other animals unless your guide tells you that you may<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>do not lead, groom, tack up or otherwise handle a horse independently unless you have been asked to do so<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>give horses enough space and avoid sudden movements around them<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ask your guide whenever something is unclear.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For most trail riding experiences, the horses are prepared before the ride. It is easier to help when we know about it early.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center is-image-fill-element\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 48%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Riding together on the trail<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trail rides are guided, and the guide chooses the riding order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stay in your place in the group unless your guide asks you to change it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep a safe distance from the horse in front of you. As a general rule, leave at least one horse-length between horses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do not ride alongside or pass another rider unless your guide gives permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Listen for instructions during the ride and, when needed, pass the guide\u2019s message on to riders behind you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The group rides together. If one horse or rider needs help, the others may be asked to stop and wait. if a problem disappears on its own. Trail riding is not carried out during a thunderstorm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes the best plan for the day is different from the one originally expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If something feels wrong<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Horses can react to their surroundings.
