A place shaped by everyday life<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ronivaara is our family home and the year-round home of the Finnhorses and other animals who live here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horses, animals, people and the work of everyday life have shaped this place together for more than twenty years. The farm changes with snow, light, pasture, weather and the needs of those who live here, but it remains the same home throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When guests come to Ronivaara, they arrive in the middle of this everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You arrive through the forest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The road to Ronivaara leads through the forest. As you reach the farm, the surroundings open into the yard, horse areas, fields and the landscape around us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stable, paddocks, pastures, riding areas and old farm buildings all belong to the same place. Forest trails begin close to the yard and continue into the surrounding terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For us, these are familiar everyday surroundings. For a guest arriving for the first time, they are also the beginning of getting to know Ronivaara.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A home that began with two horses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our family came to Ronivaara in 2005 with two horses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first, this was simply the place where we were going to live and keep our horses. Over the years, the old farm has changed and grown with us. Buildings have been repaired and given new purposes, places for horses have developed and the work done here has gradually become part of what Ronivaara is today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruska Laukka began in 2006, but Ronivaara is first and foremost the place where our family has lived, where the animals have been cared for and where everyday life has grown around them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The farm has developed step by step, following the needs of horses, people and the work done here.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Where the horses live<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Finnhorses live with other horses in familiar groups and surroundings. Paddocks, outdoor areas and pastures are part of their everyday life, and the way these areas are used changes through the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riding and working with the horses can take place in the riding arena, indoors or out in the surrounding terrain. Forest trails and field edges begin close to the farm and are part of many days with the Finnhorses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the farmyard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Forests, fields, pastures and the changing terrain around the farm are part of Ronivaara as much as the buildings themselves. The surroundings influence where we ride, how the animals spend their days and how the farm changes through the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyday life begins with the animals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Finnhorses are at the heart of Ronivaara, but they are not the only animals who live here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheep, chickens, dogs and cats are also part of everyday life around the farm. Each animal has its own routines, familiar places and relationships with the others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During an ordinary day, Finnhorses move through their familiar surroundings, sheep follow their own routines, chickens are busy with their day and a dog or cat may appear somewhere in the middle of the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caring for the animals gives structure to life at Ronivaara. Feeding, observing, movement, rest and simply spending time around the animals are all part of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same place, a different day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ronivaara changes continuously through the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winter brings snow, frost and short days. Spring changes the light and the ground beneath the horses’ feet. Summer opens the pastures and brings a different rhythm to the animals’ days. In autumn, colours deepen, temperatures fall and familiar surroundings begin to change again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The time of year influences the work at the farm, the horses’ routines and the way we move through the surrounding landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the same Ronivaara throughout the year, but no two times of year feel quite the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finnhorses have shaped Ronivaara from the beginning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Horses were part of life here from the first day, and Finnhorses remain at the centre of Ronivaara today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are part of everyday life as well as the experiences we offer. We ride with them, work with them from the ground, drive with them and spend a great deal of ordinary time caring for and observing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each Finnhorse is an individual, with its own character, skills, preferences and relationships within the herd. One may feel especially at home on forest trails, while another may be particularly suited to groundwork, riding or quieter interaction with people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our family has grown here alongside the farm, the horses and the work around them. Over the years, other professionals have also become part of the activities at Ronivaara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Different kinds of work take place here, but they share the same surroundings and the same everyday responsibility for the animals and the place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How we care for the horses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The wellbeing of the horses guides everyday decisions at Ronivaara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The horses live with other horses and have opportunities for movement, outdoor life, rest and recovery. Their health, behaviour, individual needs and workload are followed as part of daily care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The horse and the conditions of the day are also considered when activities are planned. For example, a route, pace or activity can be adapted when a horse needs more recovery or when the ground and weather change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our work is also reflected in the Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) label, SRL Laatutalli and Hyv\u00e4Talli Silver level<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim is simple: a good day for the horses and a good day for the people spending time with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
