Your own guide welcomes you, introduces the horses and stays with your group throughout the experience. Guidance is adapted to the participants and the programme you have chosen, with time to ask questions, observe, take part and get to know the individual Finnhorses more closely.

What makes a private experience different?

Private at Ronivaara means more than having no other guests in your group.

You have your own guide and more space for the experience to follow the people taking part. Guidance, pace and practical activities can be adapted within the programme according to participants’ experience and needs.

It also gives you more time for the individual horses. Your guide knows Ronivaara’s Finnhorses, their characters, histories and relationships, and can share the stories of the horses you meet.

The exact programme remains the experience you have booked, while the way it unfolds can respond to your group, the horses, the season and the conditions of the day.

Finland’s native horse, met as an individual

The Finnhorse is Finland’s native horse breed and national horse, with a long shared history with Finnish people.

Finnhorses have worked alongside people on farms and in forests, transported people and goods and later found new roles in driving, riding and equestrian sport.

At Ronivaara, that history continues through the individual horses living here today. Each has its own character, strengths, relationships and way of being with people.

The wellbeing of the horses guides how each programme is planned and carried out.

Ronivaara’s Finnhorses live with other horses and have opportunities for movement, outdoor life, rest and species-typical behaviour. Their health, behaviour, workload and individual needs are followed as part of everyday care.

The horses taking part, pace, activity, route and conditions are considered together. A programme can be adapted when an individual horse or the conditions of the day make another choice more suitable.
