Private Finnhorse Trail Ride in Ruka-Kuusamo

This private Finnhorse trail ride is suitable for couples, families, friends and small private groups. No previous riding experience is required, and the experience is suitable for first-time to experienced riders. Younger riders under 12 can also take part.

If riders in the same group have different levels of experience, the programme is shared by the whole group and follows the level of the least experienced rider. Please tell us about each participant’s riding experience when booking so suitable horses and a suitable ride can be planned.

Participation for guests with reduced mobility can be considered in advance according to individual needs and the practical possibilities of the programme.

• group insurance for guests, Finnish Equestrian Federation insurance for occasional riders

Please arrive in good time so the programme can begin at the agreed time. Part of the experience takes place outdoors in the farmyard, stable area and on the riding route, so dress according to the weather.

Choose sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for a stable and outdoor riding environment. Wear long trousers and a long-sleeved shirt. In winter, warm layers, gloves, a hat and proper outdoor footwear are important.

Please avoid loose clothing, scarves and backpacks. Riding equipment that has been used at other stables should be disinfected before arriving at Ronivaara.

Yes. The experience is reserved entirely for your own group, with a maximum of 4 guests.

Do I need previous riding experience?
No. The private trail ride is suitable for first-time to experienced riders. The programme, route and pace are adapted to your group’s riding experience.

Can children under 12 take part?
Yes. Younger riders under 12 can also take part in a private experience because the programme is adapted to your own group.

Can riders with different experience levels join the same group?
Yes. First-time and experienced riders can take part in the same private group. The experience is shared by the whole group, and the route and pace are adapted to the least experienced rider.

Where does the ride take place?
The ride takes place in Ronivaara’s surroundings, through forests, open rural landscapes and northern hill scenery, depending on the route and conditions.

What happens after the ride?
After the ride, the experience ends in the stable cabin with a seasonal drink.

What should I wear?
Dress according to the weather and season. Wear long trousers, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes, such as hiking boots or rubber boots. In winter, wear warm layers, gloves and a hat.
