Our trail rides include calm options for first-time and less experienced riders, scenic rides for those with some experience and more active experiences for confident riders. Each programme page tells you clearly what riding experience is required.

Farm Experiences

Step into the everyday life of Ronivaara

Spend time where Finnhorses of different ages and the other animals live their everyday lives throughout the year. Meet the horses in their own surroundings, hear about their characters and stories and see how the changing seasons shape life at Ronivaara.

Depending on the programme, you may take part in caring for or feeding animals, observe Finnhorses in their herds, meet sheep and chickens or enjoy a seasonal activity with a horse. Choose from family experiences, a private stable morning or a longer private experience for your own group.

The farmyard may be deep in snow, horses may be out on summer pasture or the first autumn frost may be settling over the ground. The animals and their daily lives are always at the centre.

Choose an experience reserved for your own family, couple or travel party. Your time at Ronivaara may take you onto the forest trails, into the everyday life of the farm or into a quieter moment of working with a Finnhorse.

Your group has its own guide, and the experience can be shaped around the people taking part, the individual horses, the season and the conditions of the day. There is room to ask questions, take part, observe and spend more time with the things that interest your group.

Choose personal instruction when you want to develop your riding or practical horsemanship with a Finnhorse. A private riding lesson focuses on your riding, experience and goals, while a private groundwork lesson develops practical skills in reading, handling and guiding the horse from the ground.

Meet a Finnhorse from the ground through observation, guided interaction and communication. The private experience can be shaped from discovering the Finnhorse and its individual character to exploring body language and interaction in greater depth.
