Finnhorse Trail Ride in Kuusamo Landscapes – For Riders with Some Experienc

This scenic Finnhorse trail experience is suitable for guests who already have some experience on horseback and want a calm nature-focused ride with Finnhorses. It is not designed as a first riding tryout, but for guests who are comfortable enough to take part in a guided trail ride.

The experience takes riders with Ronivaara’s Finnhorses towards forests, fields and Kuusamo hill landscapes. The route is chosen according to the day’s conditions, the group and the horses’ wellbeing.

The experience includes:

Duration: 1.5 hours
The 1.5-hour duration covers the full programme: arrival at the farm, meeting the horse, safety briefing, mounting, initial guidance, the trail ride and return.

Please arrive in good time so the programme can begin at the agreed time. Part of the experience takes place outdoors in the farmyard, stable area and on the riding route, so dress according to the weather.

Choose sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for a stable and outdoor riding environment. Wear long trousers and a long-sleeved shirt. In winter, warm layers, gloves, a hat and proper outdoor footwear are important.

Please avoid loose clothing, scarves and backpacks. Riding equipment that has been used at other stables should be disinfected before arriving at Ronivaara.

How is this different from the 1-hour relaxed trail ride?
This programme gives you more time on horseback and along the route. The ride has more room for forests, fields and Kuusamo hill landscapes to become part of the experience. The 1-hour relaxed trail ride is a lighter and more approachable option, especially for inexperienced or less experienced guests.

The route may follow Ronivaara’s private trails, woodland routes, fields and scenic sections near Kuusamo hill landscapes, depending on the day’s conditions.

How are the route and pace chosen?
The route and pace are chosen according to the group, the conditions and the horses’ wellbeing.

What equipment is provided?
A riding helmet is provided. A high-visibility vest or safety vest is available if needed. Changing and social facilities are available at the farm.

What should I wear?
Dress according to the weather. Wear long trousers, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes, such as hiking boots or rubber boots. In winter, wear warm layers, gloves and a hat.
