Finnhorse Ride in the Evening Light at Ronivaara Farm

This evening trail ride is suitable for less experienced riders who want a calm and clearly guided trail experience in the evening atmosphere. It is also suitable for more experienced riders when they are looking for a peaceful nature experience on horseback.

The experience is especially suitable for:

You do not need to be an experienced rider. Please tell us about the participants’ riding experience when booking, so the programme can be carried out in a way that suits the group.

Minimum age: 12 years

The experience includes:

• meeting your Finnhorse at Ronivaara Farm
• safety briefing before heading out
• help with mounting if needed
• initial guidance in the riding arena before the trail
• guided evening trail ride with Finnhorses
• riding on Ronivaara’s private routes, in forest surroundings and near hill landscapes, depending on conditions
• professional local guide
• ride based on the group’s abilities, the route, the conditions and the horses’ wellbeing
• riding helmet and, if needed, a high-visibility vest or safety vest
• use of changing and social facilities
• group insurance for guests
• Finnish Equestrian Federation insurance for occasional riders

Duration: 1 hour
The duration covers the full programme: arrival at the farm, safety briefing, mounting, initial guidance, the trail ride and return.

Please arrive in good time so the programme can begin calmly at the agreed time. Part of the experience takes place outdoors in the farmyard, stable area and on the riding route, so dress according to the weather.

Choose sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for a stable and outdoor riding environment. Wear long trousers and a long-sleeved shirt. In winter, warm layers, gloves, a hat and proper outdoor footwear are important.

Please avoid loose clothing, scarves and backpacks. Riding equipment that has been used at other stables should be disinfected before arriving at Ronivaara.

Do I need previous riding experience?
Not necessarily. The experience is suitable for less experienced riders, as long as the participant is ready to follow guidance and take part in a calm guided trail ride.

Can a child under 12 take part?
Participation for children under 12 can be requested by email or phone if the child has previous riding experience and is ready to take part in a guided trail ride.

How does the evening ride differ from a daytime trail ride?
The atmosphere is different. Evening light, a quieting landscape and the season’s changing colours make the ride feel distinct from a daytime trail experience.

Can we see northern lights?
In winter, clear evening skies, snow, moonlight or stars may create a special atmosphere. Northern lights may appear if conditions are right, but natural phenomena can never be guaranteed.

What equipment is provided?
A riding helmet is provided. A high-visibility vest or safety vest is available if needed. Changing and social facilities are available at the farm.

What should I wear?
Dress according to the weather and season. Wear long trousers, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes, such as hiking boots or rubber boots. In winter, wear warm layers, gloves and a hat.
