This programme is designed for riders who feel confident in the saddle, can control a horse well in trot and want to focus on the horse’s movement, changing terrain and the connection between horse, rider and landscape.

The experience begins at Ronivaara Farm, where you meet your horse calmly before departure. We go through the safety instructions, help with mounting if needed and start with guidance in the arena to find a clear and comfortable start together with the horse. This helps the group head out onto the trail in a calm, safe and well-prepared way.

The route continues through Ronivaara’s forest surroundings, field edges and the hill landscapes of the Ruka–Kuusamo region. The terrain brings natural rhythm and variety to the ride: the forest comes close around you, more open areas give space to the view, and the shapes of the hills make the route feel alive. This is an experience for riders who enjoy moving through nature with the horse and adjusting to the landscape as it changes.

The Finnhorse is at the heart of the experience. It is Finland’s native horse breed: strong, wise, versatile and trusting by nature. For a confident rider, the Finnhorse’s sure-footed movement, steady character and calm strength make the trail rewarding — not only because of where the route goes, but because of how the horse carries the rider through the terrain.

After the ride, the experience ends in Ronivaara’s stable cabin with a seasonal drink. This peaceful closing moment brings together the movement of the Finnhorse, the nature of Kuusamo and the warm atmosphere of Ronivaara Farm.
